Day 16

The days are short when you wake up in the middle of the afternoon..

shower. then gobble up a hotdog for lunch
cheeia is trying to save money so she watches me eat :D
i tell chris if i run out of money i will sell his adderol for food
mwhahaha.

4pm korean class.
sigh................
tues and thursday are reading days.
i can read but i read like forest gump.
we spend an hour and 40 min going around the room and reading.
for about half that time the class waits for me to finish reading my sentence.
i have korean dyslexia

next the teacher goes around and asks each of us to read the whole page.
"Uhd tuk kae!"  (means oh no!) this phrase is the most used phrase during this trip.
it is to be said in a high pitched girl voice accompanied by rapid hand waving motion.
funniest when done by chad.

my turn is coming up. i am so nervous.
it'll take me until next week to finish reading the whole page.
thankfully the teacher stops at the girl next to me..WHEW.
READING you are my weakness. and tetris....

after korean i check out the campus ministry EMMAUS.
it is very cool. i feel like God has really blessed this ministry.
the speaker/pastor's wife/director lady is really young and cool
her name is Erin.
she explains to us how EMMAUS got its name. from Luke 24
the disciples were on their way to the city Emmaus disappointed because this was after Jesus was crucified and they believed Jesus to still be dead.
Jesus appeared to them along the way but they did not recognize him.
But then during dinner Jesus broke bread (symbolism of his body being broken on the cross) and the disciples recognized him. Then the disciples ran back to Jerusulem to tell the people that Jesus is still alive.
Erin says she hopes we will meet Jesus here and that when we return to our homes we will tell the people there that Jesus is still alive.

Then she told us about her testimony.
She grew up in the church but felt trapped by the rules and the religion.
When she went off to college she went buck wild and fell into drugs/partying/an abusive relationship you know how it goes..
She just wanted to be free and do whatever she wanted.
But then she hit rock bottom and God opened her eyes to see that those things that she thought she wanted actually ended up trapping her. Because in order to relax she had to get high or in order to have fun she had to drink.
Christianity is not about rules it is about a RELATIONSHIP.
God is waiting for you to have a desire to get to know Him.
Do not be ashamed of the things you have done in your life. No matter what you have done God still loves you and He wants you to return to Him.
The thing about our almighty God is that He is also a gentle God. And He will never force you to love Him. And He longs for the day you return to Him.
But that is why Jesus weeps. Because humanity has rejected God and continues to reject Him even after He sent His one and only son to die and pay the price of sin so that we may be saved.
This is the Truth. and the Truth will set you free.
Free from sin. the lies of this world. the emptiness. the pain. the meaningless. and even death.

Afterwards we prayed and Erin went around pointing out people and praying for them.
Prayer time made me cry cause I could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit so strongly.
WHY didn't i wear waterproof mascera today.....

Afterwards we eat! yay.
They say at Emmaus we love Jesus and then we love food!
AMEN.

Dinner ttonkasu (pork cutlet)
i ate too fast and almost literally passed out.
We take a cab back to the dorms cause its so freezing outside.

I came to Korea. not to learn the culture. not to learn the language. not to have fun. not to buy pretty stuff. not for the food. not for TOP -__-;;
But to meet God.
That was my secret.
God has answered my prayers. And I am excited for the things to come.
