Mid 20's

When I'm sad
does my skin turn blue?
it doesn't show
though inside it's true

I can't not smile
it's harder not to pretend
this is my normal
my old friend

I'm too young to complain
too old to change my ways
stuck in the middle
lost in the haze

Another day has passed
feels like it's gone to waste
responsibilities weigh me down
tomorrow arrives in a haste

Though some days are slow
too slow for my young taste
but I'm too old, too tired to change
another day has gone to waste.

  1. Hello, Rebekah.

I just want to say that I am blessed with your posts but most of all, I am blessed by how real you are with yourself and how you openly express yourself (on social media).

From reading a couple of your most recent posts, I see that you've been through trials and seasons where it has been difficult. Many transitions, heartaches, brokenness, etc. Whatever you're going through I'm sure it hasn't been easy. It's never been easy.

I don't know what exactly what you're going through but it worthy to be recognized that you are continually bringing God worship, joy, praise, and hope. In the season of trials, you never fail to turn and gaze your eyes upon the Lord and thank Him for the good and the bad. Even in the most confusing times, you are still pursuing God and serving Him through serving His people. That in itself is something to be admired and I give you a lot of respect for.

Finally I just want to encourage you that you're not alone in all of this. You have friends, family, and a loving community who embraces you as you are. You don't need to put up a facade. Come as you are. We don't want a faithful, Sunday going church girl. We want Rebekah So. Bring your troubles, worries, and brokenness and lay it all before the Lord. Let the ones who love you embrace you. You. Are. Loved.

Sorry if I'm just rambling on now. What I wanted to get across initially was that there are always people around you who care for you and that God is in control. He is the master architecture who know works all things for our good.

Hope you had a wonderful New Years and Christmas with you friends and family. See you around

    - Friend
